MEET THE BAND
Brian Stoner - Bass Guitar / Vocals
Brian is the heart & soul of the rhythm section. He has played in a wide variety of bands and genres. Brian's musical influences include his late father D.S. Reed and a host of musicians including Tommy Shannon, Geddy Lee, John Paul Jones and Victor Wooten. Growing up in the tri-state, he brings energy, feel, groove and a love of the "low end" to THE CHILL.
Taras Tatarko - Keyboards / Vocals
Taras completes the sound of THE CHILL with his soulful keyboards and background vocals. He’s played with the San Francisco Symphony, in jazz quartets and rock bands, taught keys and vocal/instrument arrangements, and sat in with Bobby McFerrin, Curtis Salgado and Monti Amundson. When he's not playing with the band, you'll find him taking a friend for a ride in one of his vintage cars or spending time with his two kids.
John Griffin - Drums / Vocals
John has been in the Cincinnati music scene since relocating from Chicago in 2000. He's recorded in the studio with several bands and performed at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2021 & 2023. His drumming influences include Buddy Rich, Keith Carlock, Steve Gadd, and whoever guest drummed on the "Tonight Show" in the eighties. In his spare time, he's been known to work on a classic car or two.
Dan Swafford - Vocals / Guitar
Born in Texas and raised in Ohio, Danial comes from a long line of musicians. Touring with bands by age 17, he stepped away at 20 to proudly serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. He has recorded and performed on multiple EPs. His sound is shaped by a rich blend of influences, including his late father Clayton Swafford, Otis Rush, Eric Clapton, Freddy King and Chris Cain. When he's not performing, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife & two children.
Jim Spangler - Vocals / Guitar
Jim has spent most of his blues playing days out on the west coast. Playing clubs and festivals from Monterey to San Francisco, he has shared the stage with many notable musicians from the area. Early influences include B.B. King, Mike Bloomfield, Johnny Winter, and Robben Ford. When he's not playing the blues, he enjoys guitar refinishing and restoration.
